1. Who we are

Toowoomba Removals (also trading as Toowoomba Removalist, part of the Darling Downs Removals family) is a removalist business based at Suite B/2 Percy St, Newtown QLD 4350. We can be contacted at (07) 4641 7960 or tim@toowoombaremovals.com.au. The person responsible for privacy matters is our manager, Tim Apps.

2. What personal information we collect

We only collect information that we genuinely need to do our job. When you request a quote or book a removal, that may include:

Your full name, phone number and email address
Details of your move, such as moving-from and moving-to addresses, dates, property size and the items being moved (including your room-by-room inventory if you complete it)
Any additional information you choose to share with us in the quote form or by phone

We do not collect sensitive information (such as health, racial or political information) unless you volunteer it, and we never collect it without your consent.

3. Why we collect it and how we use it

We use your personal information for the purpose you gave it to us:

Preparing and providing free, fixed price removal quotes
Booking, planning and delivering your removal or storage service
Contacting you about your quote or booking
Arranging insurance cover and specialist handling where requested
Responding to your enquiries and resolving any issues

We will not use your information for any unrelated purpose without asking you first.

4. Direct marketing

We do not run email or SMS marketing campaigns. If we ever do, we will only contact you with your consent (for example, if you tick a box asking to receive updates), and every message will include a simple way to opt out, as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). You can withdraw consent at any time by calling or emailing us.

5. Who we share your information with

We never sell, rent or trade your personal information. We only share it with the small number of service providers needed to run our business, and only to the extent needed for your job:

Quote form delivery: quote requests from our contact page are sent directly to our own website server and delivered to our business email inbox. We do not use a third-party form service for this.
Google Analytics ( _ga , _ga_<container-id> ): set by Google Analytics 4 only if you accept cookies in the banner, so we can count visits and see which pages are useful. They last up to two years and can be blocked in your browser or with Google's opt-out add-on.
Google Maps: our contact page includes a Google Maps embed, which is provided by Google. Google's use of cookies is covered by Google's privacy policy.
Web hosting: your details may pass through and be stored by our website hosting provider.
Insurance and specialist contractors: where you ask us to arrange insurance or specialist moving services, we may pass your details to the relevant provider.

We may also disclose information where the law requires us to, or to protect our legal rights.

6. Cookies and website data

This website uses a small number of cookies:

Cookie choice ( twr_consent ): remembers whether you accepted or declined cookies in the banner, so we don't keep asking you. This is strictly necessary and cannot be switched off.
Quote form draft ( twr_quote_draft ): if you are part-way through our quote form, this saves what you have typed so the form is not lost if the page refreshes. It only exists while you are filling the form, is cleared as soon as the form submits successfully (or if you decline cookies), and contains nothing but your own form entries. It expires automatically after 7 days.
Google Maps: our contact page includes a Google Maps embed, which is provided by Google and may set its own cookies. Google's use of cookies is covered by Google's privacy policy.

Google Analytics is the only analytics tool used here, and it sets cookies only if you accept them in the banner. It lets us count visits and see which pages are useful; the data is aggregated and not used to identify you, and Google processes it under Google's own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). If you decline, no analytics cookie is written. You can change your choice any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer, or block cookies in your browser or with Google's Analytics opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

7. How we store and protect your information

Your quote details are delivered to our business email and stored securely, and we take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We only keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected (for example, while a quote or booking is active, and afterwards only where required for tax, insurance or legal reasons). When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

8. Accessing and correcting your information

Under the Australian Privacy Principles (specifically APP 12 and APP 13), you can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. 9. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please tell us first and we'll do our best to sort it out quickly. Contact Tim Apps with the details of your complaint. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.

10. Overseas disclosure

Our website hosting provider and our mapping service (Google Maps) may process information on servers located overseas. By submitting a quote request, you consent to this processing, which is limited to what is needed to operate this website and deliver your quote. We will not otherwise send your personal information overseas without your consent.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page with its "last updated" date.
